The past one-and-half years have been critical in shaping my leadership values and perspectives for empowering women and girls through global health and social justice programs. I served at PowerPlay NYC in downtown Brooklyn as Metrics, Evaluation, Assessment and Learning Fellow. PowerPlay NYC advances the lives of young women and girls through sports helping them grow physically, emotionally and academically stronger. I technically directed and oversaw the development of a monitoring and evaluation system through effective utilization of current cutting-edge social emotional predictive and prescriptive analytical tools. Through my one and half years of service, I have acquired the essential skills and shaped my leadership perspective and values through the Atlas Corps program offerings like — the global leadership labs where I have learnt from some of the worlds greatest industry professionals, system thinkers, and academicians. My host organization was instrumental in implementing my training plan and went above and beyond not only to give me the space and time to explore limitless possibilities but also the coaching and on-going mentorship that I received. The programs monthly webinars were invaluable on shaping my perspectives on leadership especially diversion and inclusion in the twenty-first century and the “me-too” era.

Over the past six years and during the fellowship, I have made several career transitions within community health, vaccines, and promoting the use of research and data-driven approaches. I participated in networking events, workshops and webinars tailored towards shaping my servant leaderships skills and values.  The Atlas Corps experience enhanced my essential skills to institute and lead a social enterprise that integrates my passion for global health, social justice and big data along with managing and leading development programs. The missing fragment is to supplement my experiences with in-depth, sector-specific knowledge and advanced training in health informatics. My short term is to peruse a Master’s program in Health  Informatics which would enhance my training and experience allowing me to set my career on a successful path to design equitable health and social justice interventions that reduces health inequality.
